Get Ready for 2026 Now: Developing Your Life Plan
My friends, as the year begins to turn its corner, do you feel that subtle drift—that familiar temptation to let the current of the world carry you into 2026 by sheer default?
You are not the sole architect of your life. You are a co-creator and an image-bearer with agency under authority. To live well is to live by design, not by default, discovering your story inside of God’s larger design. This isn't just about setting New Year's resolutions; it's about intentional, faithful design shaped by God’s eternal purposes.
That's why now—before the holiday rush and the January scramble—is the essential time to begin mapping out your wholistic life plan. Don't let ambition outpace formation. Instead, let's weave your faith and your goals into one unified story under God.
The 6 Elements of a Designed Life Plan
Our design framework helps you look at your life as an integrated whole. It’s a compass that guides you out of compartmentalization and into wholeness, clarity, and faithfulness.
Here are the six interconnected elements, with a simple reflection question to begin the process:
* 1. Place 🌍
* The Concept: This is where God has you—paying attention to your geography, the season of life, and your current environment as part of God’s design.
* Reflection: Where does God have me right now, and what is the primary call of faithfulness for this specific season?
* 2. Picture 🖼️
* The Concept: This is the God-sized vision, rooted in eternity, that shapes your perspective and your daily life. It's seeing vision as a God-given compass, not an idol.
* Reflection: What is the eternal perspective that should re-frame my immediate concerns and vision for the next year?
* 3. Purpose 🧭
* The Concept: Your unique calling and identity as an image-bearer—how God has designed you to reflect Him, rooting your identity in Christ, not in your work.
* Reflection: What core truth about my identity in Christ am I most tempted to forget when I'm under pressure?
* 4. Plan 📐
* The Concept: The habits, rhythms, and goals that give structure to your faithfulness, moving you from intention to practice.
* Reflection: What one key rhythm or habit can I commit to that would create space for grace and rest?
* 5. People 🤝
* The Concept: Relationships, community, and mentors who shape and sustain your journey. You cannot live by design alone.
* Reflection: Who is one person I need to intentionally seek counsel from, and one person I need to intentionally invest in next year?
* 6. Produce 🌾
* The Concept: How faithfulness is truly measured—not just by outcomes or ambition, but by obedience and stewardship aligned with God’s design (what we might call Performance in our book).
* Reflection: If 2026 is a success in God's eyes, what tangible 'fruit' of obedience and love will be most evident in my life?
Don't wait for January 1st to step out of drift, distraction, and default living. Start praying, reflecting, and sketching out your design today.
